Spay and Neuter Clinics

If you're interested in trapping feral cats and looking for free or low-cost resources for getting them fixed, you have several options.

Please note:  If you bring a feral cat or cats to these clinics, YOU are responsible for their after care.  In addition, you must return them to their colonies and agree to manage the colony responsibly, ie. provide with food and water, shelter and continued trapping and altering.

Sunday Clinics

Sunday Clinics are currently FREE for all Sacramento County feral/community cats. Spay/neuter has been sponsored through 2017. An appointment is required.   

The Sacramento SPCA holds Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Clinics four Sundays per month. These clinics are specifically for feral and free-roaming cats that have been trapped the day before the clinic, and are not intended for pet cats. The price is normally $17 per cat and includes spay/neuter, a mandatory ear tip, FVRCP and rabies vaccinations, and flea and ear mite treatment if needed.

Daily Clinics
Trapped feral cats may also be brought to the Sacramento SPCA Spay/Neuter Clinic, Monday through Saturday without an appointment.  The price is $50 for a female and $35 for a male. Call (916) 504-2818 or Visit their site for more details.

Emergency Vouchers
The Coalition For Community Cats (C4CC) can provide you with an e-mailed voucher for spay/neuter if you are unable to attend a Sunday Clinic. These vouchers are for use Monday-Saturday at the Sacramento SPCA at 6201 Florin Perkins Rd. One trapped cat per day is allowed and no appointment is necessary. The cost is $15.00 per cat and includes spay/neuter, mandatory ear tip and vaccinations. Email info@coalition4cats.org and enter “Emergency Voucher” in the subject line.
